Sustainability And CSR (Advanced Level)

sustainability

Sustainability And CSR (Advanced Level) – Given the UN and countries globally have extensively analyzed and decided on the concerns for issues of environment and development as the last chance to save the planet; the urgency for the need for change is being reinforced more prominently; meeting basic human needs now and in the future requires a major shift in the thinking, values, and actions of all individuals and institutions in their relationship with the natural environment.

It is high time now to call for the mobilization of creativity, ideals and courage of the youth of the world to forge a global partnership to ensure a better future for all. As such, education for sustainability is an entitlement, should be life long, and be holistic within education programs.

Education for sustainability needs to be at the core and an integral part of all school programs. It is the responsibility of all educational organizations to increase the awareness, values, skills, and understanding needed to create a just and sustainable future.

Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This concept is consist of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.

Education for Sustainable Development is not only about being environmentally-friendly; it also involves developing life-skills including leadership, communication and management; all of which are extremely important for personal development. Education for Sustainable Development can help change our future.

The course focuses on key knowledge areas of sustainability theory and practice, including ecosystems, global change, energy, agriculture, water, environmental economics and policy, ethics, and cultural history.

This subject is of vital importance, seeking as it does to uncover the principles of the long-term welfare of all the peoples of the planet. As sustainability is a cross-disciplinary field of study, this foundation requires intellectual breadth: as We describe it in the lectures, understanding our motivations requires the humanities, measuring the challenges of sustainability requires knowledge of the sciences (both natural and social), and building solutions requires technical insight into systems (such as provided by engineering, planning, and management).
